Willow’s Evening Song

Every forest needs music—and Willow the Fox was very happy to provide it.

She had a guitar made from an old acorn crate, strung with spider-silk strings and polished until it gleamed in the sunlight. Every evening, when the sky turned that perfect golden color, she’d carry it out to her favorite rock near the meadow and start to play.

Her songs were cheerful and bright, full of twangs and strums and the occasional fox-sized tail wag. Rabbits swayed. Raccoons clapped. Even Frog tapped his foot (though he said it was just to keep tempo).

One night, a breeze carried her melody all the way to the far side of the woods—and a few owls who had never attended a concert came gliding in to listen.

Willow grinned. She didn’t mind who showed up. Big crowd or small, her songs were always the same: full of joy, full of rhythm, and full of heart.

And as the sun dipped behind the trees and fireflies blinked on like twinkling stage lights, Willow strummed one final chord and whispered, “Encore tomorrow.”
