A Moment Beneath the Sun
It was quiet here. Not like the city.
You could actually hear the wind in the trees. You could see the stars. And in the mornings, if you looked out the window, you might spot a rabbit—or two—just sitting in the grass like they owned the place (which I suppose naturally, they do).
There were wildflowers everywhere, and the air smelled different—like pine and fresh sunshine. Days were for swimming, hiking, picking blueberries, and riding in the way-back of the car with the windows down. Evenings were for campfires and marshmallows and falling asleep before the story was over.
